Description

In this course, you will get a quick but comprehensive introduction to mindfulness meditation. Traditional media advertises meditation as a stress ball, but in reality it can help give you deep insight into how your mind works. In this course you will get guided instructions on how to meditate in addition to the theory behind mindfulness. Guided meditations will include awareness of the breath, sounds, and feelings. The theory will include topics like why one focuses on the breath, what is the main reason meditation was created, and what is mechanism of mindfulness.

The course will comprise three guided meditations followed by three lectures. In each guided meditation, you will be instructed on the practice of mindfulness meditation. The lecture that follows each meditation will build on what you did in the practice and explain the psychological and philosophical foundations of the practice. Finally at the end, you will be given suggestions on how to proceed with the practice.
