Description

I won’t bore with some long description but I have to add some detail since it’s required on Udemy.  To put it all in a nutshell, I’m gonna teach you my method of writing a screenplay. When I first started writing, I made a quite a few mistakes that would come to bite in the behind. I don’t want that to happen to you. Luckily I made them now before I end up going up higher in my career as a screenwriter. Now this may come as a shock to you, but I do not think that screenwriting can be taught. But you’re making a course on it.

Yeah I know, but hear me out. Think about all the films that you have seen. You most likely have a set of reasons for why you liked those particular films. If you list those reasons I am willing to bet they will differ each time. Some will have similar reasons but they will be different for the most part. The point I am making is that at it’s core, screenwriting is storytelling. You can teach structure and how to create characters, but not how to tell a story. A lot of stories are good for different reasons.
