Description

The scientific world has witnessed a dramatic interest in nanotechnology with research contributions from physicists, chemists, biologists as well as scientists working in the medical, agricultural, textile, and environmental fields. The varied inputs in the synthesis, characterization, understanding, and applications from household items to space technologies have enriched the nanotechnology basics. Nanotechnology is being introduced in many curricula at post-graduate and under-graduate levels. Hence in this course, I tried to give an introduction to nanotechnology for beginners who are seeking to make a career in this field.

In lecture 1 I have explained β€˜What is Nanotechnology?”, Types of various Nanoparticles and Nanotechnology Evolution Time.

In lecture 2 I have explained about properties of nanomaterials which are optical, electrical, magnetic, structural, mechanical, and physical with examples.

In lectures 3, 4 and 5, I have explained nanomaterial synthesis processes which include a sol-gel method, chemical method, electrodeposition method, roll to roll method, self-assembly method, lithography, physical vapour deposition (PVD) methods and chemical vapour deposition (CVD) methods.

Finally, in lecture 6, I have explained applications of nanomaterials in various fields such as medical in which nano-medicine, drug delivery, diagnostics, cancer detection, imaging techniques. In energy, graphene, cellulose, silicon, solar energy, fuel additives, and batteries. In electronics, transistors, MRAM, UHD, flexible electronics, etc.

Thus it is hoped that the students would find basics and introduction to nanotechnology and application areas introduced in this course.
