Project Professionals are Evolving and so is the PMP® certification exam has evolved over the period of time

The new format of the PMP exam 2021from PMI has become effective from 2nd Jan 2021 (50% Agile and 50% Predictive/Hybrid). Situational and scenario-based questions will form the core of the PMP certification exam.

  1. PEOPLE – emphasizing the skills and activities associated with effectively leading a project team
  2. PROCESS – reinforcing the technical aspects of managing a project
  3. BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT – highlighting the connection between projects and aligning with organization strategy

Content that spans the value delivery spectrum, including predictive, agile and hybrid approaches, will be included across the three exam domains.

How to Prepare Yourself for the Exam

  • Read PMBOK thoroughly. Strictly No questions outside PMBOK.
  • Read Read Read AGILE Practice Guide ( Hardly 150 Pages but will fetch you 50% of the Marks)
  • Read your Process Groups and Knowledge Areas and Process
  • Revise your ITTO’s

The new exam is comprised of:

180 questions (the previous exam was 200) but the same number of questions will be scored

  • 230 minutes to complete the exam
  • One additional break for a total of two 10-minute breaks for computer-based tests. No scheduled breaks for paper-based exams.
  • Questions will be a combination of multiple-choice, multiple responses, matching, Drag and Drop, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank. See prototype questions to learn more.
  • About half of the examination will represent predictive project management approaches and the other half will represent agile or hybrid approaches
  • The exact number of items for each question type and approach may vary by form. PMI scoring model is periodically reviewed by scoring experts to ensure a valid assessment of knowledge and skills.
  • Based on feedback from customers and stakeholders, we have worked on simplifying the format so that the Simulator can match PMP Examination Content Outline is easier to understand and interpret.
