Beginners start here! If you are brand new to guitar playing you need to start somewhere and our Volume 1 course is just the place for you. In this course we focus on teaching you the most fundamental skills to develop good tone, good techniques and avoid bad habits.
We cut out all the fluff and get you started on the most important skills to work on for you to progress as a guitar player. There are 7 core lessons in this course:
- Tune Up! – We show you how to tune your guitar so that everything sounds as it should when you start playing
- Lesson 1 – Basic Playing Technique – Here we will teach you how to properly hold the guitar and where to put your fingers to get good, clean notes when you play
- Lesson 2 – Open Chords – These are the fundamental chords that every guitar player needs to know. Many of your favorite songs will use these chords so learning them is a must!
- Lesson 3 – 12 Bar Blues – It doesn’t matter if you like blues or not… It’s absolutely the best place to start when learning how to play through songs and understand how the different parts of a song are put together. It will also give you a huge catalog of music to play through once you understand the basics
- Lesson 4 – The Minor Pentatonic Scale – This is the KINGΒ of all guitar scales and learning it will open up so many doors for you as a guitar player. It will also introduce one of the most important concepts that’s makes playing guitar a lot easier than you might think, which is the concept of movable patterns.
- Lesson 5 – Power Chords – This is the KINGΒ of all Rock Guitar Chords! Like the minor pentatonic scale, the power chord is a movable shape that will allow you to play along to tons of your favorite rock songs. Crank up some distortion on your amp and you’ll be in rock heaven!
- Lesson 6 – The Fretboard – This lesson will show you how to become familiar with naming the notes up and down the fretboard. We cut out all the fluff and only focus on the two big strings, since these are the most important to know and understand.
- Lesson 7 – Tuning – An In-Depth Look – This is a bonus lesson where we dive deeper into understanding how to tune your guitar and focus on different methods to be able to tune with.
