Description

Stress has become part of our every day living. This every day stress if not properly managed can lead to mental health problems.  One of the most affected aspects of mental health problems is our work because this is where most of us spend the largest part of our waking hours and yet the work place is one where this subject is seldom discussed. This basic course will help create awareness and help begin the conversations around mental health. 

The course begins by defining what being mentally healthy is. We then begin to look at the temporary and serious mental health disorders around us and the likely causes in order to recognize them in ourselves and in others.  The learner is provided with tips on how to begin conversations around this rather uncomfortable subject. The learner is also provide with tips on what to look out for, how to get help and how to stay healthy for themselves and others. The course discusses the consequences of not dealing with mental health challenges and provides pointers to where help can be obtained at work and outside of work.
