Description

The 1Mby1M Methodology is based on case studies. In each course, Sramana Mitra shares the tribal knowledge of tech entrepreneurs by giving students the rare seat at the table with the entrepreneurs, investors and thought leaders who provide the most instructive perspectives on how to build a thriving business. Through these conversations, students gain access to case studies exploring the alleys of entrepreneurship. Sramana’s synthesis of key learnings and incisive analysis add great depth to each discussion.

While we have made a lot of progress, the tech industry remains male dominated.

My mantra has always been: Do not strive to be a great female entrepreneur. Strive to be a great entrepreneur. Period.

Let’s start by getting a taste of how to achieve that from this free course.

The course simulates a mentoring session with a successful woman entrepreneur.

I believe that real power comes from that core sense of self – your deep self-esteem, your faith in your own work ethic, your talent, your vision, your ability to influence people through the inherent positivity of your persona.

As you go through the follow on course, you’ll see that running a company, raising children, nurturing a successful relationship, typically constitute a chaotic cocktail. Nonetheless, all these women entrepreneurs enjoy what they do, and would encourage more women to plunge into entrepreneurship.

You will also notice that most of the women successfully bootstrapped their businesses to profitability before they raised funding.

What is Bootstrapping?

Bootstrapping focuses on building a company by relying on limited resources. We’ve conducted interviews with hundreds of entrepreneurs, both male and female, who have successfully bootstrapped their businesses before seeking funding in order to provide you with a comprehensive guide to bootstrapping methodology. See how they’ve done it in those courses.

After you’ve learned about bootstrapping, please study the domain-specific case studies and consider different startup ideas depending on your passion and expertise. It will help you concentrate on the sector where you have an unfair advantage rather than wasting time chasing a hot trend where you have zero edge.

Can a woman founder build a Unicorn? Therese Tucker, founder and CEO of BlackLine, is a great example of a female entrepreneurs who has successfully built a Unicorn startup. There are many others and you very well could be the next. You can start by studying this course.

After you’re done, you should be well on your way. All of my courses are based on the 1Mby1M Methodology. Take my courses in any order you wish, combine them as needed, but do not skip the learning.

In addition, be sure to deeply understand How Investors Think and How Women Investors Think About Startups before you go chasing investors.

When you do, don’t do so with a begging bowl. Go with real validation and command the respect that would result in successful funding rounds.
