Description

Hi guys, welcome to the course: “Strategy Execution: Investments, Project Management & PMO”!

Since you are here, you probably wonder what’s behind such a sound course name, and what’s so unique about it.

At the essence, here we are going to link Business Strategy Execution with Investment Portfolio and Project Management activities. Unlike many other courses focused on Strategy – we are not going to waste your time with storytelling about importance of a Vision, Mission, market penetration, diversification, and similar topics so much characteristic for a pure Strategy-related course. Basically, we are going straightforward to practical issues relevant for the Strategy Implementation, mixing the knowledge and experience derived from the following areas:

– Project Management activity;

– Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management;

– Project Portfolio Management; and

– PMO (or, Project Management Office);

As you can see – those are the topics that you can hardly explore in details through some academic books – rather, it’s related to my own experience coming from working for a vertically integrated oil & gas company, dealing with a lot of Investments and Projects per annum – and me – being involved in strategy creation as a part of Strategy Department, and analyzing, preparing and approving individual Investment Projects – from a sort of a PMO perspective. It’s additionally reshaped with my own experience working as a consultant for numerous companies, and exploring this amazing topic on my own.

You might wonder who the target audience is for such a course. While preparing it, we had two very specific groups of professionals at mind:

– Those dealing with Strategy with background in Consulting, Corporate Finance, Investments and similar – basically, all those who would like to broaden their own understanding of Project Management, corporate policy, and what’s going on deeply within a Company, far beyond the pure excel analysis and numbers – basically, real corporate life; and

– Those with Project Management skills and experience, usually with some technical background – running projects and operations, and who would like to broaden their own perspective on Business Strategy Execution, Investments, Portfolio Management, and Corporate Governance – basically, those who would like to get a “big picture” and how decision-makers perceive the Project Management activities;
