Red Hat Certified Technicians install, attach, configure and manage new Red Hat systems that are a part of a production network. It is the responsibility of a Red Hat Certified Technician to configure local storage with the help of partitions and logical volumes.

Red Hat Certified Technicians (RHCT) create and install file systems and file system attributes which include encryption, permissions, and access control lists. They also play an active role in software installations, updates, and core services. Technicians manage users and groups that include the use of a centralized directory for authentication.
