PERANGKAT GAMELAN

The gamelan is a type of traditional music that has been around for a very long time and continues to be practiced even in this day and age of rapid technological advancement. The presence of this traditional music has been present in Malay society for a considerable amount of time. However, the manner in which this music tradition is played is no longer the same as it was in the past and today all societies that have the desire to study it are able to play it. Traditional or classical music is Malay music that is played entirely in the tradition of the kings of past times and has its own distinctiveness. This is the reason why this type of music is considered exceptional. It is primarily due to the fact that older generations have descended and passed it on to their younger generations in order for their grandkids to be able to recognise this classical music that the gamelan music has been able to survive and be passed down to the current civilization. In essence, this gamelan music is not simply a recital of musical instruments; rather, it is presented once more with palace gamelan dances that were performed in the past. This is due to the fact that the Malay people have, for a very long time, had a strong preference for incorporating latent components into their rituals that have been ingrained in their lives.
