Welcome to my Udemy Course on Improving Access and Awareness for Adaptive Sports for Adults with Disabilities!
Participants of this course will learn the distinct value and benefits that adaptive sports holds for individuals with disabilities, the barriers/supports to engagement in adaptive sports and the role that an occupational therapist (OT) plays in promoting participation in adaptive sports. Within this course, you will find a series of lectures and downloadable materials to support your learning on this topic. There are four main areas of focus within this course –Introduction to the Capstone Project, Supporting Evidence behind Adaptive Sports, Learning Objectives/Activities/Artifacts and Conclusion. A short quiz is proivded at the end of the course to assess the knowledge on the topic. It is estimated that the course will take approximately 1 hour to complete. Please note, this course has been created with a focus on occupational therapy frameworks, however, the content of this course is beneficial for all individuals seeking to promote health and wellness for individuals with disabilities. This course has been developed by extensive research, clinical experience, and clinical expertise/guidance from occupational therapists, recreational therapists and exercise physiologists.
