This course provides a solid foundation for recognizing the basic grammar of the Swahili language and vocabulary related to everyday life. It is an opportunity to explore the usage of the Swahili language for everyday conversation at the basic level, with no knowledge of the Swahili language needed.
In order to enforce the basic skills of listening, speaking, and reading, this course is divided into five sections. The first section of this course will focus on greetings in the Swahili language, both formal and informal greetings. The second section will focus on self-introduction, together with how to introduce other people. Sections three and four of this course will cover Swahili question words, numbers, and the way to tell time in the Swahili language. Finally, the last section will cover how to order food and drinks at a restaurant in Swahili, focusing on the needed vocabulary and sentence structures.
