Description

Reading picture books is one of the activities I have to organize regularly in the classroom.

The child interacts, “communicates” with the book in many different ways. And it is necessary to instill love and interest in books as soon as a child can steadily pay attention.

Picture books are special type of children’s books that has been created for kids of two to four years old. These are large-format publications with large bright pictures that take up to 80 percent of the book’s content. There is very little text in such stories – just a few lines per page.

At this age, the child’s attention is mobile, it is difficult for him to concentrate on long texts, to follow the plot twists.

Therefore, reading long fairy tales with a lot of characters and plot twists wouldn’t make much sense. The child can listen carefully to them, but it is unlikely he will understand the whole story. So for now put your favorite collection of fairy tales on the shelf and pick up a colorful, attention-grabbing picture book.
