Learning to fly Helicopters.

Description

Both helicopters featured here are free downloads from X-Plane 11. If you have a gaming PC and controllers you can learn to fly helicopters for free, compared to thousands and thousands of hard earned. In VR it is awesome.

The average cost of helicopter flying lessons ranges from $150 to $200 per hour. If you want to get your helicopter pilot license, you can expect a price between $10,000 to $15,000, on average.

The FAA requires a minimum of 40 flight hours of instruction, of which at least 20 hours must be with an instructor and 10 hours must be solo. For most student pilots, 50 to 60 hours is more typical. Reaching that level of flight experience will take most people between six months and a year.

Helicopters are difficult to fly. … Once you begin making small control inputs and learn how the helicopter responds, flying the aircraft will become much easier. One of the most difficult helicopter manoeuvres is hovering and it’s often one of the first things a flight student is taught to do.

Can ANYONE learn to fly a helicopter? Most healthy people with correctable eyesight, normal hand-eye coordination, no major health issues, proper motivation, and average or above-average intelligence can be trained to fly a helicopter.

As of May 31, 2019, the average salary of a helicopter pilot is $94,519 a year. On average, helicopter pilots make anywhere from $80,148 to $121,547 a year.

And you may be wondering just why that is. Well, the answer is pretty simple: it’s more expensive to learn to fly helicopters because of the cost of helicopter rental and flight instructor fees. … Comparing that to the airplane rental rates at Inflight Pilot Training, where prices are much more affordable

Helicopters are more dangerous, according to data from the federal government, with a fatal accident rate of 0.72 per 100,000 flight hours in 2018. But general aviation — like recreational flying — is even more dangerous than that, with a fatal accident rate of more than 1 accident per 100,000 flight hours in 2018.

As new types of helicopter jobs are created, the amount of jobs available goes up and so does the shortage. As more people retire from the industry, more jobs become available. And as more industries start using helicopters, more pilots are needed. There simply aren’t enough pilots to fill these openings.
