Modern stills cameras are capable of stunning video quality. Indeed there have been successful independent movies that have been shot solely with DSLR or Mirrorless cameras. AÂ lot of photographers, however are a little daunted by shooting video. They often see video as a very different medium to stills photography. The fact is, that whilst there are indeed many differences, those differences are not as great as you might think. Many of the techniques and compositional rules we know in photography are quite similar when shooting video footage.

In this course I will teach you how to shoot professional looking, cinematic video footage using your stills camera. This course will take you from the basics of setting up your camera for video, through the many technical aspects of video and on to the creative concepts. From there you will learn how to make a basic edit using a free but powerful editing suite.

The course is designed for photographers of a beginner through intermediate level that wish to improve their video shooting knowledge and skills. You will require a video enabled stills camera and preferably a tripod.
