Why take this course?

Confidence is a delicate human emotion; it goes up and it goes down.

You may think that confidence is a fixed thing, that you either have it or don’t and that you are not a confident person. Here’s the good news: you can grow your confidence and protect it by following some simple steps. You can.

I used to think I was not a confident person and I worked ultra-hard to compensate. Over time – many years – I discovered things to do, processes to follow that seemed to work, and my confidence grew. But then it fell back when things went wrong. I learned that my confidence was a dynamic – it went up and down; also, that I could do something about it and so I did. And the more I worked on my confidence, the more robust it and I became. People see me as a confident person, but believe me, I’m still working on it.

I also used to think money was the life blood of success. Now from experience I know it is confidence.

Confidence is the lifeblood of your success, your results, and your career. Likewise, confidence is the lifeblood of your team’s success. More than that, it’s a multiplier for team and organisational results and sustained success.

But we live in challenging, tricky times with significant change foisted upon us from all directions. This constant change causes us uncertainty and disrupts our confidence. And so growing and protecting our confidence is a constant work in progress. I hear you saying, “Yes, I get it but how? How do I grow and protect my confidence in these tricky times?”

This short course answers that question for you.

You will learn:

1. Why confidence is so important

2. About confidence as a dynamic and the need to protect it.

3. How to grow and protect your confidence

4. How to grow confidence in teams plus its multiplier effect

You will learn the simple steps!

The course is straightforward – no fluff, no preamble, no adverts. It’s lite on theory, more experiential – based on my tried and tested work strengthening and protecting my own confidence. It’s everything you need to know to become an inwardly ‘confident person’ – though you have to do the work, implement and then practice your learning.

If you already consider yourself to be a confident person, this course will give you the insight to better understand those around you who are not so confident. And with this understanding you will become a better leader.

There is a series of short videos covering my own confidence methodology, each with an assignment for you to try out and develop your own approach. You write up your experience of doing the assignment in the Workbook (provided at the end of video 1) along with your reflections and learning. As you progress through the course, your Workbook becomes a reflection on your learning journey.

You do the work at your own pace, wherever and whenever you want – a spare moment on the train or a dedicated study period at work or home. There is no exam and no test – this course is for you. It’s for your confidence, your success. You don’t have to tell people you are doing it, though they will notice the difference and so will you.

Who am I to be teaching you this? Well, so far I’ve been in industry for over 48 years, the last 25 as a leadership team coach. In my earlier career I lacked confidence and went into my shell at first sight of my boss and his boss. I attempted to make up for this by working harder and harder. This came at great personal cost. As I started to climb the career ladder I learnt about myself and ‘people’ and the ingredients of success. I became fascinated by ‘confidence’, my own and that of others, as well as the impact of confidence on results. Now I am sharing the best of what I have learnt, so you can develop your own confidence system and move forward from here with confidence.

Sincerely,

Dave Stitt
