Description

Welcome! My name is Shane Patrick Irvine. I am the author and the narrator of this series of videos on Dispute Resolution. Dispute Resolution is a powerful tool in small business matters. I understand that not everyone has access to business college and law school. However, I believe that Dispute Resolution is something that is achievable without the necessity of formal training. Understanding the basic principles, however, is essential. Recognizing this niche of resolving small business issues, I can assure you that this will become an expanded field of interest to entrepreneurs. What I provide is generic principles taught in all Dispute Resolution courses nationwide and around the world. Dispute resolution refers to those civil processes utilized to address disputes that are not criminal by nature. It also includes all Dispute Resolution methods and approaches from early resolution all the way through to formal tribunal. Court involvement or intervention is rare since the fundamental purpose of Dispute Resolution is to free up the courts. Different jurisdictions have various statutes that sometimes specifically address the depth and parameters restricting court involvement. Understanding the basic principles of Dispute Resolution can also be a preemptive tool to steer clear of controversy. Understanding Dispute Resolution allows the student to anticipate potential controversy and prepare accordingly to avoid conflict.
