Why take this course?

The purpose of this course is to get to know Power BI better with a small example. This example shows how to import an Excel file into Power BI. The data provided in this way can then be transformed. This means that further calculations, cleanups, and adjustments can be made to the data in the Power Query Editor. There are also a few examples of this. The data will then be available for evaluation.

On this basis, it is then shown how to design a report page:

When the report page is finished, you can upload it to the Power BI Cloud and distribute it to users from there. To use the Power BI Cloud, you need a Microsoft account, which you can create for free.

The sample data is available for download, so that you can follow all the work steps yourself. Power BI Desktop is used in this course. This can be downloaded and used free of charge on the Microsoft website.

This course is a first introduction to the topic of Power BI. Further techniques are taught in corresponding advanced courses (basic course, advanced course). This course does not demonstrate programming with DAX.
