Diarrhea: Diarrhea is loose, watery stools (bowel movements). You have diarrhea if you have loose stools three or more times in one day. Acute diarrhea is diarrhea that lasts a short time. It is a common problem. It usually lasts about one or two days, but it may last longer.

Dysentery: Dysentery is an intestinal inflammation, primarily of the colon. It can lead to mild or severe stomach cramps and severe diarrhea with mucus or blood in the feces. Without adequate hydration, it can be fatal. Infection with the Shigella bacillus, or bacterium, is the most common cause.

Amebiasis: Amoebiasis, or amoebic dysentery, is an infection caused by any of the amoebae of the Entamoeba genus. Symptoms are most common during infection by Entamoeba histolytica. Amoebiasis can be present with no, mild, or severe symptoms.

Nausea: Nausea is stomach discomfort and the sensation of wanting to vomit. Nausea can be a precursor to vomiting the contents of the stomach. The condition has many causes and can often be prevented.

Vomiting: What is vomiting? Vomiting, or throwing up, is a forceful discharge of stomach contents. It can be a one-time event linked to something that doesn’t settle right in the stomach. Recurrent vomiting may be caused by underlying medical conditions.

Vertigo: Vertigo is a symptom, rather than a condition itself. It’s the sensation that you, or the environment around you, is moving or spinning. This feeling may be barely noticeable, or it may be so severe that you find it difficult to keep your balance and do everyday tasks.

Family medicine (FM) is a clinical healthcare speciality which is devoted to the comprehensive health care for people of all ages and provides continuing and comprehensive health care for the individual and family across all ages, genders, disease, and parts of the body.

Family medicine is being practiced all over the world by majority of the Health care professionals including Pharmacists and other paramedical staff.

The course gives a brief idea about practice of Family Medicine for the symptomatic relief from the above mentioned disorders and discomforts. Some of these drugs are available as Over the Counter Medicines and may not seek an immediate medical attention until the symptoms prevail for more than weeks.
