In this Minicrew activity we’ll teach coloring techniques with color pencil, and students can follow along as we assemble Giorgio’s birdhouse and drone by cutting it out, folding, and then gluing. Color pencil techniques will cover basic shading and applying color/shapes, or whatever design the students would like. For the folding, cutting, and gluing, we provide step-by-step instructions on each part, so you can see how to make the 3D object out of paper. Note, while this activity can use regular printer paper, it does work better with card-stock weight paper, which is available at any local art and office supply store. Additionally, we’ll take time for a learning activity about Giorgio and his special creative skill related to insight. It’s a great way to practice creativity, while also learning about a mindset that is useful for visual artists. Parents and Teachers, make sure you have a printer, scissors, and glue to complete this activity!Β Older students will be able to follow the video without parental assistance.. however, the cutting and gluing require oversight for younger students. Once you’ve completed the lesson you might be inspired to design and make your own 3D shaped paper project! We hope you enjoy this fun paper-making project!
