Why did Paul write the letter to the Thessalonians?

He also wrote the letter to the Thessalonians to encourage them in faith so that they will not be unsettled by Paul’s trials (1 Thessalonians 2v17-3v3). He also wrote the letter to silence those who felt he took advantage of the people of Thessalonica. (1 Thessalonians 2v1-6).

What is the main message of 1 Thessalonians?

Faith, Love, and Hope in the face of affliction (1 Thessalonians 1v3). He also used the latter to encourage them to live according to God’s will and the decisions reached in Jerusalem by the Apostles (1 Thessalonians 4v1-12). Finally, it was an opportunity to encourage them about the end times and life after death (1 Thessalonians 4v13-18).

Who is the audience of 1 Thessalonians?

The audience is the members of the Church at Thessalonica and also to us as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 1v1 & 5v27).

Who persecuted the church at Thessalonica?

Their own countrymen, the Jews that resided in the city, and those that specifically came from other regions to dilute the work of spreading the Gospel that was embarked upon by Paul (1 Thessalonians 2v14-16).
